Product Description: 3M™ Cubitron II™ Cloth Belt 966F is designed to provide efficient surface finishing on a variety of metals including stainless steel, titanium and other high nickel alloys. Made with 3M precision shaped ceramic grain attached to a water resistant polyester cloth backing, this belt can aggressively sand and finish surface without discoloring the metal in either wet or dry applications.

Our 3M™ Cubitron II™ Cloth Belt 966F features precision shaped grain that is designed for moderate pressure applications. The water resistant Z & Y-weight, polyester backing gives excellent strength to the belt that allows for use with liquid-based lubricants, but can be run in a wet or dry applications. These attributes make the polyester cloth 966F cloth belt a good match for projects that require an equally durable abrasive belt.

3M™ Cubitron II™ Cloth Belt 966F’s precision shaped grain (PSG) signifies a major advancement in abrasive technology. PSG is a ceramic mineral designed using a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness of the grain. 3M scientists then went one step further and precisely engineered the mineral to form uniform triangular shaped grains that continually fracture into super-sharp points and edges that slice through the substrate, rather than gouging or "plowing" like conventional abrasives. PSG creates a super-fast cut and lessens heat build-up in the workpiece, reducing heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. Moreover, because PSG stays cooler and sharper, it lasts longer than conventional abrasives.
