Details
- A WIDE VARIETY OF USES: Ideal for temporary mounting of lightweight materials, such as paper, plastics, films, or foams in applications in markets such as electronics, automotive, aerospace, general industrial, and fabrication
- DOUBLE COATED: Features a removable, repositionable, low-tack adhesive on the liner side and a medium-tack adhesive on the face side
- DURABLE CARRIER: A PET film carrier provides dimensional stability and improved handling for laminating and die-cutting
- TRIED AND TESTED: This tape utilizes 3M™ Adhesive 400, a medium-firm, pressure-sensitive adhesive with an excellent balance of good initial adhesion and good shear-holding power across a range of temperatures, as well as 3M™ Adhesive 1000, a low-tack, repositionable, acrylic, pressure-sensitive adhesive that allows for removal and repositioning of many papers, plastics, foams, and foils
- WIDE TEMPERATURE RANGE: The adhesive on the face side can withstand temperatures as low as -20 ºF (-29 ºC) and as high as 158 ºF (70 ºC)
Product Name: 3M™ Removable Repositionable Tape 9415PC, Clear, 4 in x 72 yd, 2 mil, 8 Rolls/Case
Product Description: 3M™ Removable Repositionable Tape 9415PC is a double coated tape that works on a variety of substrates or materials for temporary mounting of lightweight materials such as paper, plastics, films or foams. This double coated tape is composed of medium-tack, permanent adhesive on one side and low tack adhesive on the other with a resilient polyester film carrier in between.
Remove, Reposition, Repeat
Once 3M™ Removable Repositionable Double Coated Tape 9415PC is laid down using the permanent adhesive side, the tape is ready for applications where lightweight items need to be repositioned, or removed and replaced repeatedly. Our low tack adhesive allows removal from many papers, foils and films without adhesive residue. The resilient polyester carrier improves the handling and strength of the tape, provides dimensional stability, improved handling for die cutting and laminating, as well as higher temperature resistance for improved processing of parts and ease of liner removal. Using the combination of permanent and repositionable adhesive, this tape is ideal for a wide range of applications and uses such as core starting/end tabbing, holding credit cards in mailers, closing envelopes, and more.
Recommended Applications
- Reclosable envelopes
- Core starting and end tabbing of papers, foils, and films
- Removable labels
- Book inserts
- Mounting promotional items
- Removable/changeable advertisements
- Temporary repositioning of foam gaskets
Two Sides, Two Adhesives
3M™ Acrylic Adhesive 400 is a medium-firm pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive system. It features an excellent balance of good initial adhesion (quick stick) and good shear holding power. This formulation gives 3M™ Adhesive 400 a consistently strong bond, good low temperature performance (up to 250°F/121°C) and good peel strength on many surfaces.
What is Double Coated Tape?
In general, double coated tape is composed of a paper, film, or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive is protected by a peel-away liner that is removed at the time of application. These tapes can be applied by hand or with a dispenser. Double coated tape dispensers are available in a variety of configurations ranging from manual to fully automatic. Applications for double coated tape are found in electronics, automotive, aerospace, general industrial, and fabrication markets.
