Product Name: 3M™ Adhesion Promoter 4298, Sponge Applicator Packet, 2.5 cc, 500 Each/Case
Product Description: 3M™ Adhesion Promoter 4298 is a versatile liquid primer specifically formulated for enhancing the adhesion of 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tapes to low surface energy substrates common on interior and exterior automotive trim and parts. This fast-drying adhesion promoter works with most LSE plastics including PPO, PP, PC, PC + ABS and others.
Versatile Adhesion Promoter for LSE Plastics
Formulated specifically for use with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tapes, our 3M™ Adhesion Promoter 4298 promotes a permanent bond with a wide range of low surface energy plastics and other materials commonly used in automotive OEM. It works well with PPO, polypropylene (PP) as well as polycarbonate (PC) and PC + ABS. It dries in 30 to 90 seconds for fast and efficient application. Once it’s dry, it’s ready to accept attachment tape. The adhesion promoter can also be cleaned from most surfaces using acetone solvent. The 3M™ Adhesion Promoter 4298 is specifically formulated to be used with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tapes and 3M™ Acrylic Plus Tapes.
Easy to Apply and Use
3M™ Adhesion Promoter 4298 is supplied in an easy-to-use sponge applicator packet. This packet tears open easily across the top to expose the sponge applicator, and the bottom section of the packet is excellent for no-mess application. The adhesion promoter can also be applied using a gravity feed wipe, knurled roller, sprayer, or a felt-tipped or similar applicator. 3M™ Adhesion Promoter 4298 can be cleaned up with methylethyl ketone (MEK) or acetone solvents (be careful with solvents on plastics).
Recommended Applications
- LSE plastic trim and parts
- Automotive dash and interior trim
- Injection-molded side body side moldings
- Automotive claddings
- For use with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tapes and 3M™ Acrylic Plus Tapes
